Covers, Sprayhoods and Cushions
With a choice of cockpit cover to overall covers, we can talk you through the best option for your Drascombe. Our canvas man has been making our covers for around 40 years, and we have now offer the choce of PVC/Polyester, suitable for winter covers, Acrylic canvas for sprayhoods, cockpit covers etc or Weathermax 80 as an option. Along with covers and overalls, we can supply cushions and in-fills to ensure you are comfortable when sleeping aboard.
Cockpit Covers
This cover fits at side bench level & requires lacing hooks screwed to the side decks close up to the gunwhale around the boat.

Shockcord is laced around the cover & looped over the lacing hooks. At the forward end, it has a collar that laces round the mast & Velcro to close the gap between the two parts in front of the mast.
It also has a dorsal fin eyelet to allow the main halyard to be attached & raised to form a slight tent shape. This avoids the cover sinking in under the weight of rainwater & forming a swimming pool for the seagulls. This is the only cover that can be used when the boat is left on a mooring. (The others require ropes to be passed under the boat.)
Our covers come with the shockcord lacing. The lacing hooks can be supplied if not already fitted to your boat.

Overall Covers
The Overall Cover is sometimes referred to as the winter cover. It fits over the gunwhale cappings & down the sides of the boat by a few inches. By doing this it protects all the woodwork.

It is secured by cords that are supplied with the cover which tie under the boat. Because of this, it cannot be used whilst on a mooring.
Some people rig mast crutches to use the mast as a ridge pole. Others go for elaborate strong-back arrangements.
Open Drascombes - As with the mast down cover, we also offer a Mast-up option, the difference is that the mast-up version comes with a collar to fit round the main mast & a cut-outs to go round the shrouds & forestay. In doing this you can leave the Mast up whilst on the trailer.
Cabin Drascombes - We can supply an overall cover for the Longboat Cruiser and Coaster, however please note, these are mast down versions, where the mast is stowed in a mast crutch in place of the mizzen mast.

Sprayhoods
Sprayhoods are available for the Dabber, Lugger, Longboat and Coaster in Acrylic Canvas or Weathermax.

The sprayhoods have Alloy frames, for a surcharge we can supply a stainless steel frame instead.

We can supply the canvas only, if you already have the frame.
Tents
We no longer supply tents for the range of boats - the price is simply too high for them to be an attractive option.

For the open boats we recommend adapting a commercially available tent or simply using an old style A frame canvas tent slung between the main and mizzen mast and helf with lacing hooks locate just under the first lan or chine.
Cushions
We can supply cushions for the Coaster and D22 - contact us for details
